The Label Printers Supports FOP Lodge #14’s

Shop With A Cop” Program

The Label Printers is proud to announce their donation to the “Shop With A Cop” program. The company raised $4,600, which will allow 40 to 50 children to participate in “Shop With A Cop”. The donations came from a number of activities chosen by The Label Printers’ employees, including cash contributions, a bake sale (with donated items made by and sold to TLP employees), a silent auction of employee donated items, a raffle, and a company match of two times the funds raised by employees. Bill Kane, Chief Executive of The Label Printers (who donated a highly prized “Lunch for 4 with Bill” to the raffle) said about the company match, “We believe in giving our employees the support that they need to make contributions to our community. The Label Printers is pleased to be able to make a donation to such a worthwhile program.”

George Tommasi, Director of Human Resources for The Label Printers, said “the FOP Lodge #14 representative that I spoke with told us that the past few years have been difficult for donations, with this year being especially tough. The Label Printers’ contribution will help many needy children and was greatly appreciated by the FOP.” Whether it was making or buying baked goods, contributing items to the raffle or auction, or buying raffle tickets and bidding on the auction items, every employee at The Label Printers was involved in this effort. Lori Campbell, Chief Operations Manager of the company pointed out that The Label Printers is committed to giving employees the space and the support that they need to be good corporate citizens. “All we have to do is encourage them to come up with ideas and give them the incentive to implement those ideas successfully. We’re all very proud of the thought and effort that went into this fundraiser – if you couldn’t find something to do to be a part of it, you weren’t looking very hard. And, on a personal note, I’m nominating the person who baked the double fudge brownies with the chocolate bar centers, for employee of the month.”

About the Fraternal Order of Police Kane County Sheriff’s Police Lodge #14:

The FOP Lodge #14 was chartered on April 1, 1966. The Lodge was initially formed as a bargaining agent to improve the wages and working conditions of the officers of the Sheriff's Dept. When the members of the Sheriff's Office formed a union, the Lodge became devoted to fraternal and community activities only. The Lodge began to sponsor Little League baseball teams throughout the county and contributed to other activities that benefited the children. The Lodge also chose the local Easter Seals facilities as its primary charity.

The Lodge also started a program called Shop with a Cop in 1989. Shop with a Cop was designed to take children, whose families needed help, Christmas shopping. The first year 400 children from throughout the county benefited from the program. The past two years 2000 children were invited to "Shop," and we averaged 1800 actually coming out to the shopping days. We learned that the need in our county was great and without our program many children would not have had a Christmas.

The Lodge has prospered and changed over the last 31 years. The change has been for the better. We strive to show that we are more than just police officers. We live in the community and care about what takes place there.
